About
Scott Anderson is a fine artist living in the Dallas Fort Worth complex. Scott has been painting for over a decade, has shown in numerous galleries and has collectors world wide. Prior to his fine art career Scott worked in the video game industry for fifteen years creating concepts and building 3D environments.
Scott Anderson has been exploring the world of art since childhood. His mother, a graduate of the San Francisco Art Academy, encouraged him to start drawing at the age of four. Drawing and painting quickly became a passion of his that he continues to this day.
Scott studied fine art, illustration and graphic design during his two years at Chico State and his three years at Art Center College of Design. Scott had the honor of having his artwork juried into the school gallery every semester that he attended there. During his time there Scott also did several freelance jobs including the cover art for Tower of Power’s Monster on a Leash album through Sony Music.
In between Scott’s time at Chico and Art Center Scott lived in Florence, Italy for a year and a half. During this period Scott took in many art museums and galleries across Europe and the Middle East. Scott connected with the Bohemian art and poet community expanding his vocabulary and understanding of modern and past artistic practices.
After graduating from Art Center Scott worked for three video game companies located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Scott started off as a concept artist and eventually migrated into building game environments. At Scott’s third company, Crystal Dynamics, Scott was chosen to art direct Whiplash, a Playstation 2 project. As art director Scott managed a team of artist, reviewed portfolios, ran team meetings and oversaw the art style for the project. On the Tomb Raider Underworld game Scott had the honor of being selected to travel to Mexico and Belize to photograph Mayan temples for source photography.
